Porto Pre-Talk

Porto Pre-Talk

Postby Iain Wilton » 07 Sep 2009, 14:33

OMG!!  Anyone who is thinking of racing here on Sunday, my advice is get on and do some laps now.  Dont leave it until the end of the week.  I have no idea what time is going to be competative or not yet, as mine were aweful.  That last chicane is worse than any at Enna.  And at over 100mph through the whole of it, it is a bit of a lottery if u can make it.  :):)

Being consistant and staying away from the walls will win this race, not pure speed.  Have tried the 07 BMW and not going to be using it, as have major issues with the brakes even with my Suzuka setup.  This track as its a street circuit has extremely low grip, and you end up locking brakes in every car.  Think I will try the Seat as its smaller!!  :):)

I agree, the chicane at the end is a lottery, my fastest lap was recorded by screaming through the entry and exit of it at ridiculous speeds, the likelihood of making it like that is around 30/70 in the walls favour so to do it that fast in either super-pole or race could end in disaster !!
This will be a race of endurance without a doubt.

Mhh like it  Loony

A bit more rest in between the corners :)
Def needs practice though because you do need to develop a rhythm & get you're braking spot on.

Will i have to redo my tracks i hate list. This one deffinatly number One.
One of the first track we tried in EVO and i hated it back then and it seems no better now.
To narrow, to many weird corners, no flow. Loved DETROIT very very much, but this street track just doesn't do it for me  cry2 cry2 cry2 cry2
